Biodata: Obassi, Ettu – was born on December 23^rd 1971 in South West Province of the United Republic of Cameroun, and hails from Amasiri in Afikpo LGA Of Ebonyi

Education and Qualification and Specialization: After the Completion of his college studies, he won a Bureau for External Aid Scholarship to Russia for His University Education and got trained for his BSc in Mining and MSc in Mineral Processing Engineering at the Moscow State Mining University [MSMU], Russia; He undertook and passed parallel courses and course work in Technology of Hydrocarbon Materials from the Russian Academy of Oil & Gas (former Gupkin Academy of Oil & Gas), Moscow with good practical exposure to workings in the mining, oil and gas industries. Obassi Ettu is also a PhD student in Mechanical Engineering (Materials Science option) at University of Agriculture, Makurdi (UAM) and has completed a Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) in Technology Management from the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) and National Centre for Technology Management.

Work experiences: His work experience  span over 20years  with  services in  Mineral Processing Engineer with the National Metallurgical Development (NMDC), in Jos Plateau State, Nigeria as QA/QC Engineer with Shell Petroleum Development Company,  Apapa Head of Centre for  Destination Inspection  and Quality Management Services for Bureau Veritas Nigeria Ltd. RMRDC currently works with the RAW MATERIALS RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL, (Agency of the Federal Ministry of Science and Technology, FMST), as  Assistant Director  (Technical Assistant) within the Office of the Director General And Chief Executive Officer DG/CEO of the Council  with schedule as Desk Officer in charge of Science and Technology  Development, Policy issues in Raw Materials Development (Science Technology Innovation Policy, Raw Materials Policy), Project Proposal Assessment and Implementation and other Technical Support like providing  strategic advice, preparation of technical papers and review of documents for the Chief Executive.

Language proficiency & Professional Membership: Engr Obassi speaks, reads and writes English, French and Russian Fluently. He is a professional member of Nigerian Mining and Geosciences Society (MNMGS –C-99-1767), Nigerian Society of Mining Engineers (NSME- G-96-0038), Nigerian Society of Engineers [MMM div.] Abuja Branch, Nigerian Materials Society (Corporate Membership application in progress), Member, American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), Member American Academy of Project Management (MPM)

His hobbies are in travelling & Meeting people, Forest Picnic Swimming,  Jumbo Jumps and  parachuting (25jumps). Happily married with 6 children (4boys and 2 girls)
